from Walton to Barcelona, a journey that would take nine days and cover a staggering 940 miles!
Aware of the need to publicise their ride to maximise sponsorship, the pair enlisted a team of family and friends to assist them and the story of the ride attracted local press coverage, radio interviews and a huge following on social media.
Over the few months building up to their departure date a variety of events were planned to not only boost funds but also awareness of the amazing work that Macmillan do. The fundraising went from strength to strength and it became clear that the team were not only going to meet their £30,000 target but surpass it and by 12th April 2014, the date of departure, they had raised an amazing £36,000!
The gruelling bike ride took them through France over the Pyrenees Mountains and was completed on the 20th April in Barcelona, where they were cheered to the finish line by friends and family.
Ronnie Remembrance Ride was then celebrated with a welcome home party when Dean & Martin proudly presented a cheque to Macmillan Cancer Support.
The total amount raised was £48,500!
